The A-Z Guide to Dance and Endurance

Ask questions. If you don’t understand something, the teacher is there to help every single student. So, speak up!
Before you start, stretch and warm up. Otherwise, you may pull a muscle or hurt yourself.
Contribute to the routine! Do you have an idea, but are too shy to address? Don’t be! Still are? Ask a friend to tell the instructor.
Don’t wear denim! It doesn’t stretch with you.
Endurance is key. Don’t exert all of your energy in the first five minutes. You won’t be able to finish!
Fill yourself with energy in each breath.
Give your teacher, your classmates, and yourself, respect.
Have carbs before, they'll give you lots of energy!
Invent a new move! Show your friends!
Just be yourself. Be expressive!
Keep motivated and keep going.
Let your moods flow through your dance. Angry? Practice that tap routine. Happy? Jazz it up!
Make yourself noticed! Don’t be the one in the background trying to keep up with your peers in the front.
Never forget your dance shoes!
Organize your multi-class schedule ahead of time. Do you need to go to the upstairs studio next? Don't linger in that last class, unless you have a question for your dance teacher.
Portray your emotion. Doing lyrical? Follow your hand as it circles back towards the floor. Connect with yourself, and the audience.
Quitting already? Don't. Remember to believe in yourself!
Remember to breathe. Focusing on taking deep breaths will keep that lactic acid from building up.
Smile!
Talk outside of class. You’re there to learn, not for a social hour!
Understand when someone needs a step repeated. If you don't now, they might not when you are having difficulties either.
Vent out any angry feelings through the dance, not at others.
Wear appropriate clothes. Tights, shorts and a T-shirt or tank works best.
X-marks the spot you have to land on the floor. If you miss, you could hurt yourself, or others. Don't feel you can do it? Tell someone beforehand so no one gets injured.
You should definitely keep hydrated! Otherwise, you won't get enough energy for the rest of the time.
Zero to sixty. Not a good idea to speed up and exert yourself right away!
